Mad Libs – The New LIVE! Musical

TEASER ON MOMMY EFFECT

We are pumped here at Mommy Effect for the premiere of Mad Libs – The New LIVE! Musical. We can hardly keep our dictionaries closed while waiting to experience this new interactive family musical inspired by the popular fill-in-the-blanks game Mad Libs.

The story goes like this: four teenagers from Blankville Central High School with little in common, come together to form a singing group and try to win the title, “Teen Superstars!” I love this because my kids are always inspired by shows where the cast is aged up. That makes them feel cool. Mad Libs Live! Is set during the live, televised competition when the teens realize that the songs they are about to sing have words missing. Thank goodness these discombobulated kids have the audience there to help them fill in the blanks!

We are told that Mad Libs has an infectious pop score that my kids, ages 7 and 9 will totally love. Apparently, the kids can also stop being serious and start getting goofy which is right up their alley. To be honest, it doesn’t take much to rile my two up so I can’t wait to see if the cast can actually remain focused with a bunch of these rowdy audience members yelling out words.
My kids are not so patiently awaiting our train ride in to NYC to see the Mad Libs – The New LIVE! Musical on Saturday. I have a feeling they will be the best barometer for which to write my review. I can’t wait to let you know what we all think!
