Happy New Year – 2016!

Happy New Year – 2016!

2015 brought many things to my life for which I am happy and thankful. It also brought some sadness as I’m sure it has for many.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS

I am mostly thankful for health and good fortune. I am amazed by my children as I watch them grow and embrace life. I have a family and friends that make my life sweet and full. I am so grateful to the people who have supported me this year through all of my writing endeavors which have included classes, conferences and writing retreats. I know I’ve been around less and I love that they all (especially my kids) still love me. I appreciate the opportunities and support I’ve received. I’m especially happy for my new and very, very, very part-time but extremely fulfilling job teaching creative play and drama to two-year-olds. I have loved every moment of it and the joy it brings to my heart and soul. I appreciate the support I have received from everyone during the dramatic and tearful relinquishment of my youngest to pre-school.

WRITING

I experienced new frontiers and growth in the realm of writing. I love writing and for as long as I can remember I’ve been writing in some way or another – writing plays and scripts, entering contests and pushing to be published. 2015 brought me to the creation of my new website and blog which is something I’ve been wanting to create for a very long time. I’m so happy that it finally happened. I appreciate the support all of you have given me along the way. I thank you for reading, liking and sharing my posts. I welcome and appreciate all the advice from my new professional writing friends and bloggers. I’m so happy to have met so many of you and caught up with others at WDC 2015, at Writer’s Circle Workshops and online as mentors.

PROFESSIONAL

This year I joined a group of truly amazing and powerful female entrepreneurs called B.I.G. – Believe Inspire Grow. I’m already in awe of their work. They are shining stars. Thank you for welcoming me.

IN MEMORY

2015 also sadly claimed the life of my mother-in-law, Bonnie, at an age that was way too young. In looking back on the year, I have realized that whether she knew it or not she inspired me to continue to write and finish my novel which is a major goal for me in 2016. Bonnie gave accolades when she felt they were truly deserved. Even though I won an honorable mention from Writer’s Digest for my short story, THREE, I was scared to have her read it. At a time when I was doubting my abilities she read it, praised it and encouraged me to move forward with writing my novel that is based on this short story.

MY WISH

I wish for a fruitful and healthy new year to all of my readers. May we all achieve our personal and professional goals and be thankful for our blessings. Happy 2016!

Cheers,

Holly
